People First Leadership

Kingsville is growing and evolving, but growth alone does not define the future of a community. The decisions we make today will shape the kind of town our families, seniors, businesses, and future generations experience tomorrow.

Why I Am Committing Full-Time Hours If Elected Mayor

On paper, the Mayor’s position in Kingsville is considered a part-time role.

For many years, that structure worked, and I respect the leaders who served our community under that model.

But Kingsville is changing.

As our town continues to grow, I believe we need to look at the role of Mayor through a wider lens.

Kingsville deserves leadership that is fully present.

The role of Mayor goes far beyond attending evening council meetings. It involves listening to residents, supporting local businesses and organizations, building strong relationships with stakeholders, advocating with other levels of government, and constantly looking for opportunities that benefit our entire town.

Can someone serve as Mayor while committing part-time hours? Absolutely.

But I believe the future of a growing community like Kingsville requires a greater level of focus, availability, and advocacy.

Many leaders would agree that with more time, there are more opportunities to connect with residents, build partnerships, pursue funding opportunities, and focus on the long-term future of the community.

This is why my commitment is different.

I bring experience from policing, senior roles within government, and years of working directly with provincial and federal partners, community leaders, and stakeholders.

I understand how relationships, collaboration, and strong advocacy can help secure funding, grants, partnerships, and opportunities for a growing town.

To bring my full experience and potential to Kingsville, I know I must give this role more than part-time hours.

That is why I am committing myself fully to serving as Mayor without increasing the Mayor’s salary.

I will continue with the current part-time compensation because, for me, this is about service, not a paycheque.

At the end of the day, residents will decide what level of commitment and leadership they want for the future of Kingsville.

I fully respect that choice.
